Feminism
My Fight. My Future.
My friend, Jenny Yucus, just finished her thesis exploring feminism in today’s society. Here is a link to the study: www.myfightmyfuture.com
“The fight for equal rights is one of much controversy and division. This web site was created in response to the need for people of all races, ages, and sexes to respond to the need for equality. Women’s rights activists, commonly known as feminists, are people who are enthusiastically working for the social, political, and economical equality of the sexes. No matter the “ist” or the “ism” it can easily be agreed upon that there should be several changes made in order to achieve this equality of the sexes. View this site with an open heart and mind to creating change. Whether that change is in your professional or personal life or with the political candidates you vote for, it is necessary for the future of humanity.
There are five categories of issues that are non-controversial and are a starting point in order to achieve women’s rights. These five categories are: workplace, motherhood, self-identity, violence, and politics. Women’s rights issues affect everyone and should be everyone’s problem and concern.
Many of the rights won for women in the last one hundred years were through electoral and political action. By following in the footsteps of women’s rights activists of the past, issues of the present and future will
be resolved.”
